Forest Hills Stadium has a published capacity of 13,000 people. Both the venue and AEG use that figure for the outdoor concert stadium in Forest Hills, Queens (Forest Hills Stadium; AEG Worldwide).
That does not mean every performance has exactly 13,000 tickets available or 13,000 conventional seats. The floor can be standing or seated, and each event has its own configuration. For a particular concert, check the event’s AXS ticket page and seating map rather than relying on the venue-wide capacity.
What the 13,000-person capacity includes
Forest Hills Stadium divides concert tickets among three broad areas:
- Floor: Directly in front of the stage. Depending on the event, the floor may be general-admission standing room or assigned seating. Seated floor setups have chairs with backs.
- Club: Bowl sections 401, 501, 601 and 701, with seats that have backs.
- Bowl: Grandstand sections with bench seating and no backs. Portable seat backs are available in limited numbers.
The stadium’s official ticket and seating guide tells buyers to check AXS for the configuration of each event. It also identifies AXS as the venue’s only official ticketing partner.
In practical terms, “13,000 capacity” describes the stadium’s overall scale. It does not tell you whether the floor is seated or standing, whether your place has a seat back or how many tickets are on sale for a particular show.
Why older capacity numbers are higher
Older figures often describe a different era or a particular concert rather than the venue’s present published capacity. The stadium’s history records 15,983 seats filled for each of the Beatles’ two 1964 shows. It also says more than 16,000 people attended the 2013 reopening concert by Mumford & Sons (venue history).
Those totals explain why searches sometimes return larger numbers, but 13,000 is the relevant current published capacity as of September 2026.
Plan for concert crowds on neighborhood streets
The stadium sits in a residential part of Queens rather than amid large parking lots. The venue says there is no parking at the stadium or on nearby residential streets and recommends public transit (directions).
The E, F, M and R trains stop at accessible Forest Hills–71 Av, three blocks from the stadium. The Long Island Rail Road also serves Forest Hills, but riders must be in one of the first four cars to exit there. The MTA’s stadium guide says many LIRR trains make an added Forest Hills stop before and after concerts.
Venue entry is on Burns Street near 69th Avenue. After a show, expect busy station approaches and surrounding blocks as the audience moves through this compact area.
